Xeric, IVL and ElectriCITY signs MoU with BCDA for cooperation between Sweden and the Philippines

Xeric, IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute and ElectriCITY signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with state-owned Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) in the Philippines on Monday November 16, 2015

The MoU is a framework for cooperation related to sustainable urbanization, especially for the development of Clark Green City, a new city, 100 km from Manila, planned for over 1 million inhabitants. It will be “Philippine’s most modern city” with environmentally sustainable, socially inclusive, economically competitive, culturally relevant, and technologically integrated solutions.

IVL’s expertise in sustainable development together with ElectriCITY’s experiences with Hammarby Sjöstad and Xeric’s specialization in providing business solutions will support the BCDA's development of Clark Green City and other opportunities.

Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA):

The BCDA Group is led by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and is a prime mover of national development in the Philippines. BCDA transforms former military bases and properties into premier centers of economic growth in partnership with the private sector with integrity, excellence and efficiency in the stewardship of government resources. IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute:

IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute is an independent, non-profit research institute, owned by a foundation jointly established by the Swedish Government and Swedish industry. ElectriCITY:

ElectriCITY Stockholm is a Swedish non-profit organization in Hammarby Sjöstad, with more than 30 members and cooperating partners among industry-, and research organizations. Hammarby Sjöstad in Stockholm is ”one of the world’s highest profile examples of Sustainable City Development”, according to The Economist. ElectriCITY is engaged in several projects to further develop Hammarby Sjöstad with sustainable and smart solutions. www.electricitystockholm.se

Xeric:

Xeric is a Swedish corporation founded by 29 executive managers, business men, consultants, investors and entrepreneurs with a common background from the Swedish telecom group Ericsson.  Xeric is engaged in facilitating international cooperations and internationalization of small and medium sized enterprises and has an operation in Manila headed by Klas Lundgren. www.xeric.se
