Pilot projects for Waste-to-Energy in the Philippines
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources has recently issued guidelines on the establishment and operation of waste-to-energy (WTE) facilities.
Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia met on December 6 with the proponents of the waste-to-energy (WTE) facility to be developed in the province. Once completed, the facility may be the first of its kind in the entire country.
WTE refers to the energy recovered from waste, usually the conversion of non-recyclable waste materials into useable heat, electricity or fuel through a variety of processes.
